Welcome to ShareYourBox. By using the app or website you agree to these terms. ShareYourBox is a free service that helps people and local shops give away and pick up moving boxes in person — there are no fees and no commission.

Who can use ShareYourBox

You must be at least 13 years old to use ShareYourBox. You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity that happens under it.

How it works

Members post boxes they have or need, arrange a meeting, and confirm the hand-over in person with a QR code. ShareYourBox provides the platform that connects members — we are not a party to the exchange itself, and we don't own, inspect, store, or deliver any boxes.

Meeting safely

Hand-overs happen between members in person and are at your own risk. Use good judgement: meet in a public place where you can, tell someone where you're going, and don't share more personal information than you need to. ShareYourBox isn't responsible for the conduct of members or the condition of any boxes exchanged.

Acceptable use

• Only list boxes and packing materials — no other goods, and nothing illegal, hazardous, or stolen.
• Be honest and accurate in your listings, photos, and messages.
• Don't harass, threaten, spam, or discriminate against other members.
• Don't use ShareYourBox to sell items or run a commercial resale operation — it's for free reuse.
• Don't attempt to defeat the QR hand-over, misuse eco-points, or interfere with the service.

Your content

You keep ownership of the photos and text you post. You grant ShareYourBox a licence to host and display that content so the service can work (for example, showing your listing to nearby members). You're responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the right to share it.

Reporting and moderation

You can report listings, messages, or members that break these terms. We may remove content or suspend accounts that do. We aim to act on reports promptly to keep the community safe.

Eco-points

Eco-points recognise your contribution to reuse. They have no monetary value, can't be exchanged for cash, and may be adjusted if earned through misuse.

No warranty

ShareYourBox is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that a box you want will be available, that a hand-over will go ahead, or that the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, ShareYourBox is not liable for loss or damage arising from member interactions, the condition or use of boxes, or hand-overs arranged through the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under law.

Ending your use

You can stop using ShareYourBox and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken or to protect the community.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
